From its creation to today Cross The Ages, through his TCG (Trading Card Game) has managed to merge in very beautiful cards, a Lore rich in fantasy and technology with innovative game mechanics. Finding the right mechanics that adapt to different player profiles and at the same time to the constraints of web 3 is not easy, but the Cross The Ages team has held this crazy bet and assumes the good and bad decisions.

As explained in the latest version of the white paper, Cross humbly aspires to make the path easier for other innovative gaming projects on the web3 side and this makes achieving certain goals more difficult.

The gameplay, while introducing notable advantages, also faced significant obstacles. The game mechanics, enriched with the intention of diversifying the experience for players, paradoxically made the game somewhat more complex.

Faced with this observation, the Cross The Ages team had no choice but to change its basic strategy and return to a more classic framework. The rule for 2024 has become: Digging deeper into the substance of the game, while simplifying it.


Towards a new game philosophy for Cross The Ages

The idea of a complex heptagram-based system with 21 attributes that interact differently depending on their factions was abandoned. The developers chose a more streamlined path. The game will now focus on 7 main elements, superimposed on the 3 factions, reducing the total number of concepts to assimilate from 21 to 10 to make it easier for players to read the heptagram.

This evolution reflects a development philosophy resolutely focused on benevolence, collective reflection and continuous innovation.

Four-Step Redefinition Plan


1) Simplification and Innovation

The first phase will see the transition from more than 21 attributes to 10 for a simplified structure of 7 elements for the 3 factions (Arkhante, Mantris and Rift), with interactions between factions, and special techniques for each collection (2 for Mantris, 1 for Watch Dogs).

2) Rework of Game Mechanics

The second phase will observe the General system removal, the modification of the rules around Special Techniques, the replacement of the score system by that of life points and that of Trinities and damage by adjustments more impactful on the progress of the game.

3) Increased Strategic Freedom

In the third phase, the power limit of decks will be removed, in favor of a dynamic cost system, which will enrich the strategic choices available to players.

4) Continuous Evolution

The last phase, and not the least, envisagesexplore a different approach of the game. For example, the ability to not play a card during a turn in order to save resources, the ability to play multiple cards per turn if resources allow, and even the elimination of the concept of turns, which will allow everyone to play in real time. It has been established that these changes are neither exhaustive nor definitive, and therefore potentially flexible.

The integration of “Static” cards into crafting from 2024 opens up new perspectives for players. The use of Trisel burn reserved for “Eternal” cards changes the approach to the collection aspect and simplifies the experience for players.

Furthermore, the clarification of Awakening probabilities, and the adjustment of fusion chances according to grades or the introduction of the “stone” system for reinforcement, enrich the game strategy. These changes aim to optimize crafting, making it more accessible and more strategic.

New chapter to write for Cross The Ages

THE white paper Cross The Ages has not just been updated, but has undergone a real transformation, both in the way the game is perceived and how it is played. With this bold new approach of simplification and innovation, Cross The Ages is set to offer a new gaming experience to its community, but also charts a course towards an era of all opportunities, as open to reality as to the virtual world and which aspires to redefine the meaning of the word game.

A Promising Roadmap for Cross The Ages


In 2024, by the end of the first quarter, the patch 0.22 will mark the notable simplification of the Heptagram, with the transformation of the attributes: Arkhome, TechStyle, and Tribe into a single concept of Elements. This patch will also introduce the possibility of forming Alliances, built from existing Factions, and this will change the visuals of the game board. In addition, two new Special Techniques linked to the Mantris collection will be added.

During the second quarter of 2024, the Mantris collection will be enriched with "Watch Dogs", with a new Special Technique. The Patch 0.23 will introduce changes to crafting, including the Flex-o-Mator, which will allow Static cards to be recycled into Flex cards using a Flex Token - one hundred Static cards are needed for ten Flex cards. A Premium subscription will replace the Relic and Insignia system, on a monthly basis, and an auction house will be set up to purchase Trisel and Flexen Pranah Tokens.

The end of the second quarter will see the deployment of the Patch 0.24, which will remove the Trinity and Leader systems, and unify gameplay between Adventure and Arena, based on Hit Points.

At the beginning of the third quarter of 2024, the patch 0.25 will introduce the Rift Collection. Then, at the end of the third quarter, the patch 0.26 will feature a new approach to gameplay, with the introduction of a 3D board and overhauls to the UX and UI.

The year 2025 will begin with the launch of the patch 1.0 as early as Q1. This patch will begin rolling out with a new Season Collection (Part 1), as well as an interactive map for Adventure Mode. Q3 2025 will see the Patch 1.5, which will add Part 2 of the New Season Collection.

It is ultimately only between 2026 and 2027 that the Patch 2.0 will be launched and will be accompanied by a new Seasonal Collection, marking an important step in the continuation of the game.
