The announcement of the latest update to the Cross The Ages TCG, long awaited by the community, has arrived.
The least we can say is that she made a spectacular entrance!
This major overhaul of the crafting and collection management system, necessary for the continuation of the Adventure, has sparked mixed reactions.
The decisions taken by the Cross The Ages team were made with a view to long-term projection of all the gameplay.
The objective is clear, it was necessary:
- simplify the gaming experience,
- optimize card management,
- encourage more active participation from players.
- also encourage the membership of web2 players
However, as with any major change, it is difficult to please everyone.
It is nonetheless legitimate that the players and the community who have been present since the beginning should not see their collection suffer as a result of the new decisions.
The choices made by the team are part of a vision that will perpetuate the project by improving its ecosystem, even if this requires abandoning certain well-established mechanics. It remains to be seen how this update will influence the balance of the game and player satisfaction over time…
Summary
The “Converter” tool: to choose between Static or Eternal…
Each time you obtain a flex card, you will need to convert it, and to do so, choose between two options:
- Cconvert to Static:
This “Free-to-Play” card will be frozen in the game, and therefore you will not be able to exchange it or resell it.
- Cconvert to Eternal:
This card, based on blockchain principles, can be transformed into NFT, resold, exchanged via the Marketplace, and even rented.
Attention! However, this choice is irreversible!
If you choose to convert your card to Eternal, this will include a Mint fee of $1 in CTA tokens.
Eternal cards will allow you to claim physical cards if you wish.
If you choose to keep your card in Static mode, it will remain within the game frame " Free-to-Play » traditional and cannot be claimed in physics.

What is La Forge? Or how to evolve cards in a simple way?
Formerly known as the “Flexomator”, the Forge is a tool that allows you to create new maps from Static Stones.
By example, creating a rank 1 static card will cost you 50 Static Stones.
By adding a "Flex roll" you can get a Flex card instead of a Static card.

Attention ! The generated cards necessarily belong to the current collection and can have different rarities ranging from Common to Mythic, foils or non-foils.

The Infernal Crusher aka the “Shred” or how the Stones reduce your cards to dust!
The role of this crusher named Shred is to help you destroy cards to get you valuable resources:
- Cards « Static » → by grinding them you obtain Stones "Static".
- Cards « Eternal » and « Flex » → by grinding them you obtain « Eternal » Stones.

Rule Change: Game Currencies
A new currency is appearing in-game. It's called "ARK"!
« ARK » : Currency for “Free-to-Play” players, obtained through duels, dungeons, quests, and other in-game activities.
THE " Trisel » remains the most difficult Currency to obtain in the Cross The Ages TCG, it is intended for players who participate in Raids and Ranked mode. Its role is preponderant for the transformation into “Eternal” mode of the cards.

The different stages of Crafting and the restructuring of the system by the Stones.
1/ The Augmentation (or the Power up):
This step allows you to increase the rank value of a card from Rank 1 or higher to Rank 5.
This requires either "Static" or "Eternal" stones, as well as Ark or Trisel depending on the type of card chosen to be powered up.
Example : For a Mythic “Eternal” card, you need to craft 300 “Eternal” Stones + 2,000 Trisels to reach Rank 5.
2/ The Awakening:
This step transforms a Rank 5 card into its alternate version and gives it even more power.
This requires either "Static" or "Eternal" Stones, as well as Ark or Trisel depending on the type of card chosen to be awakened.
Example : To awaken a Mythic card “Eternal”, you need 450 “Eternal” Stones + 5,000 Trisels.
3/ The Fusion (or The Merge):
This step consists of Merging two alternate cards together to create a Combo Alternate Card. The final grade of this Fusion will depend on the grades of the alternate cards used (ranging from C to S).
Example : To obtain a combo card, you must merge a Mythic card "Eternal" + a Rare card "Eternal", you need 530 stones (Stones) "Eternal" + 7,000 Trisels.

Cards that are increasingly valuable and therefore difficult to obtain!
Do you have any Season 1 Arkhante cards?
Maybe you even have some Mantris Season 2 cards?
Lucky you!!
The older a collection is, the more difficult it will be to craft, because it will require more Stones for the crafting process…
Therefore, the older a card is, the more stones it will earn you when grinding.
You will be able to grind all the cards that you have in duplicate or that you no longer need to transform them into stones, and reuse them to craft other cards.
The Shred System will be available starting September 25, 2024, with some specifics for the old Season 1 Arkhante and the old Season 2 Mantris.
Bonus Period until November 25, 2024:
- For the Arkhante and Mantris collection, you will only need to use static or eternal stones to evolve (power up) your cards to Rank 5.
- No additional cost in Stones will be required for awakening and merging cards from past Arkhante and Mantris collections.
- You will receive 50% more Trisel Bonus on Raids and ladder rewards from September 25 to October 25, 2024, then the Trisel Bonus will increase to 25% until November 25, 2024.
We recommend that you take advantage of these 70 days of sales to farm Trisel and thus embellish the cards of your Arkhante Season 1 and Mantris Season 2 collections at a lower cost. This will also allow you to keep your resources for the cards of the Rift Season 3 collection.

This update to the Crafting system promises to be crucial for the future of Cross The Ages.
Since the launch of the first TCG Gameplay to today, Cross The Ages has undergone many changes in the development of the game.
In the past, some of these changes have been popular with the community, and then some have been rejected and have not been popular.
Although this update has been announced for a long time, players and collectors were not aware of its details.
It was only when the major change to the card evolution and crafting system was announced that everyone fully understood the extent of it.
Its impacts, advantages and disadvantages undoubtedly make it one of the most important updates in the history of Cross The Ages and will be felt in the long term.
It introduces a deflationary dimension to the cards which will positively impact the game's economy.
By allowing a large amount of cards to be milled, this update will a fortiori lead to a reduction in card supplies, making them inherently rarer and more valuable.
This whole process should get players excited about crafting and boost the interest of new and old players alike in optimizing their collections.
For us, members of the editorial staff of L'Artellium Post, this overhaul, although it seems complex with its quantity of information to remember, remains promising and rich in positive perspectives.
This major change requires time to adapt and understand all the workings of this new mechanism.
Simplified card management and smoother crafting make the ability to attract new Web2 players more important. It also doesn't penalize veterans or devalue their commitment, which has been in place since the game's early days.
As in all areas, change is often a source of stress and fear. It is also true that it can sometimes lead to mistakes, but more often than not, when it is thoughtful, it leads to success.
The Cross The Ages team makes conscious choices and is aware of the different processes and systems in creating the game.
Only time will tell whether this overhaul is beneficial.
But for now, it's an opportunity for players to reevaluate their strategy and explore new opportunities in this TCG while waiting for Arise and the other Games.
Stay connected for the rest of the adventure!!!!!
