Sollale's unconditional love lies in the Memory of Aurèle!

Sollale

In the Rift, moments of sweetness and hope are rather rare. One might think that the chaos that reigns there leaves very little chance for this kind of feeling.

The two cards Rare Specials of this 9th Airdrop of the season 3 Rift of Cross The Ages, have captured for us the poignant story of a mother, ready to do anything for her child.

This story is that of Sollale, a courageous mother, aware of the difficulties of raising and educating her son in a hostile environment. She brings him Love, protection, and teaches him responsibility and resilience.

Through these illustrations, we witness this unbreakable bond that unites this mother to her son, the transmission of values and Love. A legacy that we unfortunately only understand after the death of our loved ones...

A famous saying in the Rift goes: “We don’t build what we want to be, we become it.”

Sollale did more than build her son, she gave him the solid foundations that would make him a leader, a protector, and a man of value guided by honor.

Let's discover how these two cards immortalize this relationship and the crucial role that Sollale plays in Aurèle's destiny.

Sollale

Lanterns shine less brightly than a mother's love and a child's innocence.

There standard version of the Rare Special card of Sollale and Aurèle transports us into the past to relive the memories of a little boy who shares a warm moment with his Mom. The luminous lanterns are loaded with symbols that rise into the sky, at sunset.

Sollale carries Aurèle, still a child, on her frail shoulders, in a posture that could seem basic at first glance, but which is ultimately not so insignificant. It represents both the protection and the elevation that Sollale obliges herself to towards her son Aurèle.

Her silver hair, carefully braided, shines under the glowing sky, where hundreds of lanterns float peacefully. These lights suspended in the twilight evoke a ritual or perhaps a commemoration.

Is this a reminder from the Riftians to their elders? their origins (Solon's lands)? or is this an event that concerns the harsh lands of the Rift?

In this illustration, Aurèle is dressed like all the little children of his age… Quite simply, in shorts and a T-shirt. He has bare feet and a purple scarf around his neck. His amazed gaze, his little gaping mouth, and his little hand stretched out towards the lanterns illuminate his face and emphasize his innocence.

The carefree nature of the moment that Aurèle experienced as a child gives him even more humanity.

We have all experienced such moments at one time or another.

The scene exudes complicity and normality… Indeed, Sollale makes sure that her little man never feels wronged. She does her best to ensure that he has a happy childhood, as normal as possible. Sollale, so solid and caring, literally supports her son, helping him see beyond their immediate reality. She seeks in a way to show him that even in the Rift, moments of magic and beauty can exist.

After all, don't they say that to be happy in a family, what matters is not the size or the beauty of the house, but the people who make it a home...

Sollale's basic and practical clothes, accompanied by her apron full of tools, clearly show us her role as a woman of action. A mother determined to do everything to ensure a stable and better future for her son.

The moment of wonder captured by this SR Card then becomes a priceless memory, an image engraved in Aurèle's memory forever. In memory of the light and unconditional love of his mother, which he will always keep with him.

Sollale

Unconditional love is a refuge in the shadows.

There alternative version of this SR Card, plunges us into a much more intimate and melancholic atmosphere. In this scene, we discover a moment of fragility in which Sollale and Aurèle are torn from the tumults of the Rift, in a bubble of sweetness. It could have been a banal moment in the life of a mother hugging her son… Except that in the Rift, nothing is banal anymore since the blast.

Under a subdued light, in a sober and pure decor, Sollale sits with her son nestled against her. She wraps her arms around him like an invisible armor, offering her child a shelter, both emotional and physical. A bulwark against injustices, a cloud of happiness in the harsh reality of the hostile world that the Rift can be.

Her gaze filled with love and gravity seems to whisper silent truths to Aurèle: "I'm here for you, but one day you'll have to be there for yourself."

Her gestures, full of tenderness, transmit to Aurèle the inner strength, as if she wanted to see it anchor itself in him. She would like him never to have had to know this difficult life.

She would have loved to offer him better, but in the meantime, she must teach him the resilience necessary to face a future in which she may not always be present.

Every caress, every whispered word, contains a lesson, the importance of never giving up even when all seems lost.

The clean decor of this card adds a touch to this impression of intimacy.

The old street lamp on the left of the image diffuses a soft, reassuring light, in contrast with the dusty and unforgiving lands of the Rift.

This space is a cocoon that Sollale uses to protect Aurèle from the shadows outside. However, this tranquility is tinged with melancholy.

Did Sollale know that this moment would be one of the last they shared together?

This moment suspended in time, freezes forever all the Love that Sollale has for Aurèle, but also the promise of a future guided by his strength and his honor.

This scene is probably one of the last memories that Aurèle has of his mother.

This memory will become a compass in his adult life.

Sollale

Sollale, love as a legacy for Aurèle.

These two cards tell a moving story, in which every visual detail reinforces the idea that Sollale shaped Aurèle to become a man of great value. She did everything in her power to transmit to him much more than love. She gave him the tools necessary to tame fear, this "old companion" that he carries within him, to build himself as a leader and protector.

Adult Aurèle will be strong, resilient, and guided by a strong sense of justice. The promise he made to himself as a child is to honor his mother and the Rift, it is the common thread of his life.

He became a man of action, a man of principles, a protector of his own.

He is consistent in every decision he makes.

In every act of courage, Sollale still lives in Aurèle's heart. Exactly as Sollale would have wanted, as she taught him, like those lanterns that illuminate the sky of the Rift, which he once contemplated with her.

These two Special Rare cards immortalize a relationship and a legacy, reminding us that even in the dusty lands of the Rift, love can transcend all.

Sollale gave his son a very good reason to live, and he will keep this promise until his death and beyond.
